WELCOME to a new year in AdventureLand AWANA at New Cov! We are so happy you are joining us this year. “AWANA” is an acronym which stands for: “ Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.” This comes from Paul’s second letter to Timothy, 2:15.
We plan to have a super year making new friends, learning LOTS about our best friend, Jesus, digging into God’s Word, and playing some exciting games. We’ll even have a few little surprises along the way. So, get ready for an adventure — the 2008-2009 AWANA Club is on a roll.
We get all the fun started on Wednesday, September 10th. Wednesday night, 6:30 - 8: 00 PM. We have 4 exciting programs for kids ages 2 to 4th grade.
Puggles is a new AWANA program for your pre-cubbies kids (usually 2 and younger 3 years olds) that presents basic biblical concepts:
Puggles learn simple lessons through teaching cards, activities, music and more. Parents are puggles’s first and best teacher, they can help reinforce the lessons at home with take home cards that include ideas to point out God’s work each day.

A Cubbie’s ( 3 & 4 year olds) evening begins at Camp Cubbie! Full of stories, music, and—often—games. Next comes Handbook Time in small groups and time for snacks (YUM!) . A ctivities, games, and periodic craft projects - along with the Scripture memory recitations all happen in the group classroom.
Parents play an active role in the Cubbie program! Many activities are designed to be shared between the child and his/her parent. We want parents to feel free to come and participate any Wednesday evening. (Parents can even earn an award!)

Sparky is a fun, firefly character , mascot for our Kindergarten to 2nd graders ! There are three ranks, or handbooks, in the Sparks Club : Skipper - Kindergarten; Hiker - 1st Grade; and Climber - 2nd Grade. Each is filled with Scripture memory work and other interesting activities .
We would love to have parents join us to celebrate the award time at the end of our evening in C.R.E.W. It means so much to the children to have parents participate in this time. A parent, or designated adult , is required to pick up each child. This is for the safety of the children, please do not ask a child to “meet me at the car,” or in a certain place . Leaders are instructed to remain with their group until you arrive .

The R.O.C.K. (Radically Obedient Christian Kids!) program is using T&T ... Truth & Training material for 3rd & 4th graders. We’re looking forward to some fun learning together, for leaders and kids. We have a few extra special activities planned - field trips to a few surprises. So, bring a friend!
Awards are made following Handbook and Council Times in the R.O.C.K. classroom . W e encourage you to attend and celebrate this accomplishment. The R.O.C.K. kids must remain with their leaders until picked up by a parent or designated adult in the R.O.C.K. classroom.
Final awards in May are greatly anticipated by R.O.C.K. kids. From pizza...to limos...to Boomers—we never know what’s in store! Book completion might mean something NEW. what FUN! Come learn the TRUTH, be TRAINED in His WORD, and go out to ROCK your world!
